Curriculum Vitae
Alberto Biano, Italian bassonist born in 1977, studied with Alberto Guerra in Rovigo and Lausanne , obtaining diplome de Concert and diplome de soliste with distinction in the years 2002 and 2004 respectively. He has attened classes in Geneva with Roger Birstingl and in Bobbio ( Italy ) with Sergio Azzolini.
As an orchestral player, Alberto has participated in the orchestral courses of Laciano (IT), Fully and Sometan Suisse (Jeuness Musicale). His Professional activities in orchestra has included replacement with L’orchestra Filamonica Italiana di Piacenza, Orchestra Estherazy (Rome), Ensemble Harmonitas (France), Mozart Wind Consort, Chamber Orchestra of Scala di Milano, Orchestre de Chambre de Genève, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (Lugano), Orchestre de Chambre du Valais as well as Orchestre de Jeune de Fribourg and Sinfonietta de Lausanne. He has also worked as a practikum with Berner Symphonique Orchestre.
Member of the Ensemble Contrechamps of Geneva, he has played in important festivals of contemporary music such as Archipel, Festival of Lucern and Ars Musica of Brussels under the direction of Heinz Holliger and many others. His interest of the ancient music brought him to play with Il Giardino Armonico under the direction of Giovanni Antonini and Academia Bizantina of Ottavio Dantone.
As a soloist, he has played concertos of Mozart and Weber with Orchestre Chambre de Lausanne under direction of Jost Meyer and Laurent Gay. He has participated in the Verbier Festival Youth Orchestra whici toured Europe in 2000 under the baton of Paavo Jarvi and cooperated with soloist Vadim Repin. And in 2001, the Americas , under James Levine and Paavo Jarvi, with Soloist Babara Hendricks. During the festival, he has played with such as Gil Shaham, Zubin Mehta , Kent Nagano and Yuri Termikanov.
He is the cofounder of the wind trio CLAB with who he has won a 1 st prize in the International Chamber Music Competition “Marco Fiorindo” della citta di Nichelino (Torino) and a 3 rd prize in the Migros Chamber Music Wettbewerb (Zurich).
