Hi! Erin!

I’m glad to tell you what is my favorite.

My favorite band is Eagles and I like their songs very much. I feel their music have a little country, and a little rock. Listen to their music make me feel very comfortable, especially their emotional songs are very catchy and appealing. And they can play guitar very well, so I very like this band.

My favorite movie is 『 Good Will Hunting 』 . It played by Matt Damon and Robin Williams. I saw it about 3 years ago. This movie is talk about a young boy who has natural ability, but nobody know that. He elects to clean the halls after class at his school, and he always unravel complex equations on the board stealthily. One day, he was found and attracts the attention of a professor who won't let him quit his ability. I like this movie because it describe the relationship from the people let me feel very warm and fragrant. Especially, his sympathetic friend who know he has natural ability, but he still hand around with these buddies.

The friend doesn’t see him to neglect his ability, and wants him to escape the small town to develop his potentiality. The friend has said to him ：「 Every day I drive the car to take you, I always happy that I can see you in your house. But, I really hope that one day I drive to you house, and you aren’t here. You have gone to other place to develop your ability, and make your dream come true. I also hope we could be together forever, but maybe I will hate you after 20 years if you still just in here. 」 Finally, he leave this small town to develop his potentiality. When his friend went to his house, and found he has left. His friend was so sad, but so happy for him. This story gave me a grand message that a real friend is difficult to meet. If you real love someone very much. Don’t ask him or her have to be with you forever. Let him or her go free. If they don’t come back that means they don’t belong to you. If they do, and love them forever.

My favorite song is 『 COCOMO 』 by The Beach Boys. I like this song because the melody make me feel relax. Everytime I hear this song, and I will image that I am at the beach, and under a beach umbrella, and sitting on the beach chair, and drinking cocktail, and watching the blue ocean, and don’t think about anything. That is why I like this song.

My favorite book is 『 Shout-Our-John-Hu 』 . （ Chinese transliterate ） The meaning of the name is to laugh at the world. This is a Chinese novel, and it was written by Jim-Yung. It’s very popular novel in Taiwan and Hong Kong. This novel is talk about the ancient history in Chinese about one thousand years ago. The writer was according to Chinese real history, and he image the situation. Then made up the story, and write it on the book.. Especially, he write it from a plebeian’s point to describe the history events. So, it is a interesting and instructive novel.

I am sorry I must use dictionary because this paragraph has too much reasons to explain, and many words I have never used before. And I hope you can understand why I like them in correct message.

Yvette, Thank you so much for this amazing journal.  It really is no problem that you used your dictionary because you wrote so much.  I am interested to know more about the novel that you wrote about.  I love to read but I haven't really read much Asian literature.  I wonder if I could find a translation of this novel in the library.  I will have to ask you about it in class.
