Dear Erin :
I was glad to have walking tour in semester, because that is more fun in class. We visited Mission area, and there are many interesting in there. We met on the corner Church St. and 20 th St. then we started our walking tour. First, we saw a fire hydrant. Erin said that is a very old hydrant, and it was the only one hydrant didn’t break in earthquake in San Francisco. Then, we walked cross the park, and we saw a statue. I forgot the statue’s name, but I remember the statue is the man who was the first person immigrated to Mission. We walked to 16Th ST. and Dolores ST where is a church named Mission Dolores. This is a very old church, and we visited the church. We saw the old and new chapel, a small museum, and cemetery. After that, Erin took us to eat lunch in a Mexican restaurant. This was my first time to try Mexican foods, and very amazing to me. The foods are very spicy, but they are very delicious. After lunch we walked along the street, and we saw many paints on the wall. Especially a building which named Women’s Center, it has a very beautiful paint on its’ walls. Then we saw a beautiful garden, and have many kinds of plants in it. We also saw many stores. They sale many singular things, and that I had never seen. Finally, we ended the walking tour at 3:30p.m.
I had seen many things and learned some histories for San Francisco in this tour. I can imagine the city in hundreds years ago, and I can think about why it became this shape that I see it now. I like to know about something that I had never known. So I am glad to have this chance to find out. I’d want to thank Erin gave me a wonderful experience.
Yours sincerely

Dear Yvetter, You don't need to thank me for taking you on the walking tour. I need to thank all of you for coming and letting me show you me city! Your journal entry was excellent. I am happy to see you writing so much. Your writing has really improved in these few short weeks that you have been here. I appreciate the effort and hard work that you put into completing the work in this class. Erin Lofthouse
